beauty maternity

busy-phillips-at-a-pea-in-the-pod-event.jpgMaid of Honor actress Busy Phillips opened up to The Cradle about her pregnancy style and her plans for an all-natural childbirth. Phillips is expecting a baby girl this August with her husband, writer Marc Silverstine.

How would the actress describe her maternity style?
“It’s been hard for me because I’m one of those people who loves to dress up and wear something different every time I go out. And I have an extensive wardrobe that I haven’t been able to wear, so I’ve been trying to be as creative as possible. I’ve been shopping at places like H&M, Forever 21, and Urban Outfitters so I can get bigger sizes [of] cool clothes that are kind of cheap. But the splurges for me have been the designer jeans, and I love those belly bands.”

The actress says she is hoping for an all-natrual childbirth.
“I’m not going to do an epidural. I’m going to do natural childbirth. We did a HypnoBirthing class, so I’ve been practicing that. I’ve had several friends that have had great success with HypnoBirthing and the techniques.

And I don’t know how to explain it, but I’ve also always known since I was young that I wasn’t going to have pain medication when I gave birth. I believe that it’s a very personal choice, but I really believe that this is something our bodies are able to do naturally, and we should get out of our body’s way and let [it] do it. So while we are going to have a hospital birth, we’re also planning on spending a lot of our labor in our home, which is where our midwife is going to be, and then she’s coming to the hospital with us too. I’ve been doing a lot of reading, and I feel really prepared. Yet, that being said, if something were to happen, I really trust my doctor. So if the baby needs to be born another way that I can’t be in control of, then that’s the way the baby is going to be born.

I feel incredibly prepared for the kind of birth that I want to have, but half of it is up to the baby and what she wants to do. We’ll see what kind of birth she has planned!”

Actress Jessica Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, welcomed daughter Honor Marie Warren on June 7th in Los Angeles. “She seemed relax,” a source told People magazine. “and ready to welcome home her baby.”

Alba’s maternity style could be described as fashionable and straight off the runway. Her casual style consisted of bump-hugging sweaters accessorized with a funky cap and hip scarf knotted around her neck. She loved wearing hip tunics and pairing them with leggings and ballet flats. As was the trend with many pregnancy celebrities, long maxi dresses, such as the Corey Lynn Calter maxidress she wore to the Nickelodeon awards, were also a staple in her wardrobe.

On the red carpet, Alba wore designer gowns that were customized for her pregnant body. For instance, the actress wore a customized plum Marchesa dress to the 2008 Academy Awards. “I thought it was comfortable and flattering,” Alba gushed. “It would be nice to show my baby, ‘This is what Mommy wore to the Oscars!’”
